Avaya news July 2025: Avaya Infinity platform to add AI Model Context Protocol (MCP)
In Avaya news for July 2025, the communication solution supplier has announced plans to add support for Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) to the Avaya Infinity™ platform later this year, according to a press release.
MCP enables artificial intelligence models to securely interact with data sources, APIs, external tools and user context. As part of this project, Avaya is partnering with the data and analytics supplier Databricks to offer enterprise-grade data security and governance.
“The largest and most complex organizations must be able to leverage new tools, models, and technologies as the world realizes the full potential of AI in real time,” Avaya CEO Patrick Dennis said in the release. “That’s why we decided to accelerate what was an MCP moonshot, an innovation-first initiative, into our Infinity platform 2025 roadmap.”
The addition of MCP support to Avaya Infinity will allow both large language models (LLMs) and agentic AI to interact with the platform, opening the door to adaptive workflows and highly personalized customer service.
Avaya aims to make MCP support available in the Avaya Infinity platform in Q4 2025, according to the release.
