Fiber Internet<\/a> is an incredibly fast alternative to common services today, boasting speeds around 100gbps (gigabits per second). It accomplishes this with different wiring, using glass instead of copper and sending digital data through light signals.<\/p>\n

It sounds good now, but it\u2019s even better when actually used. While consumer-grade options will, of course, be a thrilling change from standard cable options, it\u2019s a business that can really flex the muscle of this ultra-quick net speed. While not available in all areas yet, if an organization is proxy to a service like Google Fiber, it\u2019s definitely worth considering.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s because fiber Internet increases productivity by nature of its speed. Most businesses rely on a network to communicate with management and their workforce. They also likely send and receive files, emails, messages, and a variety of other Internet-reliant work material. With current cable networks, sometimes it can take a while to move data around (especially large packets of it). With a fiber service, it\u2019s as quick as blinking.<\/p>\n

Then consider downtime. Or, in the case of fiber Internet, a total lack of downtime. Say a company conducts itself through an online vending service, such as Amazon. At certain times of the day, they might experience enormous traffic on their site, straining performance. The use of a fiber Internet service, however, means there\u2019s no slowdown, no connection loss, and no crashing websites. The business continues to function without breaking a sweat.<\/p>\n

That example also has the additional benefit of saving on IT. Whenever there\u2019s a technical issue such as website downtime, an IT team has to reset and fix whatever issue caused it. Sometimes this might be simple, while at other times it might mean maintenance of servers, which can be time consuming and costly. But fiber Internet offers unprecedented reliability and is updated frequently and automatically without dealing with the aforementioned issues. This lets IT staff members focus on other problems and keeps the company productive.<\/p>\n

In a nutshell, fiber allows for faster access and rotation of important data, big or small. It maintains website services and business networks without flinching and integrates perfectly with other third-party services like cloud computing<\/a>. While investment costs are of course there, businesses can save a lot with the overall efficiency and productivity increases gained by utilizing such a service.<\/p>\n

As of now, we\u2019re all still patiently waiting until fiber kicks off and is available across the nation, but there are still plenty of areas where setups like Google Fiber exist.
