Converged Communication Systems and Avaya hosted an event at the Avaya Demo Center in downtown Chicago on September 17 to help current and prospective IP Office customers learn more about the advantages the solution offers.<\/p>\n

The Avaya IP Office & Business Benefits Knowledge Transfer event had two parts with a number of breakout sessions. During the first part <\/a>of the Avaya IP Office & Business Benefits Knowledge Transfer event, participants had the opportunity to attend breakout sessions covering topics such as the benefits of IP Office Server Edition and how to address common IP Office support issues. Avaya Communicator for Web: Stay Connected Wherever You Are
\n<\/strong>After acquiring Esna Technologies<\/a> (a leading provider of embedded real-time collaboration and communication solutions), Avaya released Avaya Communicator for Web, a browser extension that integrates with business cloud communications such as Salesforce, Google Business, and Microsoft Office 365.<\/p>\n

Communicator for Web allows clients with IP Office Server Edition to communicate with colleagues without having to leave cloud-based business applications or Web pages. The Communicator is HTML5-based, fluid and very responsive. It allows for browser-based real-time communications in Chrome, Internet Explorer, Google Apps, and other applications. It also integrates with Google Hangouts and allows for screen sharing. In addition, it allows for real-time presence across Google Drive: Coworkers sharing documents can see each other\u2019s presence and availability, which can be set manually or automatically using Google Calendar.<\/p>\n

Avaya Communicator for Web also allows for voice, video, instant messaging, presence and more from Office 365 documents. You can use it to find your teammates, connect and collaborate in real-time, and make voice and video calls from your browser \u2013 no phone required.<\/p>\n

Avaya one-X Portal: One Interface for Office, Remote, and Mobile Work
\n<\/strong>Avaya one-X Portal \u2013 a Web-based unified communications client that comes with IP Office Server Edition \u2013 gives users access to Avaya telephony, messaging, mobility, presence, and conferencing services through a single browser-based interface. You can use one-X portal to log into and manage your desk phone, instant messaging and presence. Cell phone clients, including both Android and iPad mobile clients, tie into it as well.<\/p>\n

With one-X, you have the ability to make and record calls. Additionally, it provides advanced conference control capabilities: Users can see who\u2019s talking in a conference, lock or end the conference, or even select individual users and drop them from the conference.<\/p>\n

In addition, because one-X lets you make calls as if you\u2019re using your desk phone, it\u2019s useful if you need to work remotely but don\u2019t want to give out your personal cell phone number. Clients can call your DID number and reach you through one-X as if you were at your desk.<\/p>\n
